Account book, 1825 Feb. 1 - 1825 Nov. 27, labelled ledger, of Hunt's that refers to the business trip he took from N.Y. to Ala. to search for coal and to examine the salt springs and mines leased by the Alabama Salt Manufacturing Company from the state of Ala. The springs were located near Selma, Dallas Co., Ala., as well as at Salina, Ala. Travel experiences, expenses and correspondence regarding his accounts were carefully recorded and copied. He travelled by ship from New York to Mobile, by railroad from Mobile to Selma and surrounding areas, and by coach and railroad back to New York. Prominent accounts included French and Hart (Troy, N.Y.), W. Devereaux and Co. (N.Y., N.Y.), and LeRoy Bayard and Co. (N.Y., N.Y.).
